| I am Mrs. Marva L. Dowdin. I have been married to Coy E. Dowdin for twenty-seven years, and I am the mother of two grown sons, Wesley and Michael. I am a retired Senior Computer System Analyst with twenty-six years experience. I am the author of my published book, THE BLUE WALL published by iUniverse.com and sold on the web at Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, Borders.com and on many more web sites around the world. It is about my life as a single young woman, who was a high fashion model in Dayton, Ohio and New York and who was chosen from over one hundred models to appear on the (Phil Donahue Show). El- Shaddai My mission is to tell everyone the good news about Jesus Christ. To instruct women how to become good wives and mothers, to help them to look good on the outside and fine tune the inner person. My mission is to help all women and single mothers, teenagers, who are trying to find themselves, grandmothers raising younger children, foster parents, the misunderstood, the alcoholics, the gang bangers, the prostitutes, the drug addics, women who are incarcerated, women who are victims of domestic violence, the Hispanic women, all races and the homeless, and the hard working, but-can't-see-my-way people, who have more month than money and those who are in the nursing homes, hospitals and mental hospitals, and those who feel that they have no hope and want to end it all. I will be someone to talk to for those women, who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and other cancers. I am a breast cancer survivor, as well as a domestic violence success story. I vow to do this one person at a time, because you are important to God - you are important to me. I will surely tell you that it was God that came to my rescue and it was God that gave me the strength to go on. It was on a Thursday morning, that I shook myself loose saying, "girl, you can make it and you can't give up now; you have come too far." That day, I walked out of that abusive relationship with a strong will to make it, no money (just some change), a taxi cab full of my clothes that reached to the roof, my sewing machine, my beautiful and fearless German Shepherd and my sanity. It will never be over until God says that it is over, because my end, my end, my end -is going to be better than my beginning. My family will not understand it, my friends will not understand it, and my enemies surely will not understand it, but - Almighty God - but, my God, because I belong to Him and only He, understands my needs. Morton | | My Testimony My testimony as to what God has done for me. He is my Everything, my Jehovah-Rophe, my Healer. In 1976, I was going from doctor to doctor, from hospital to hospital, from emergency room to emergency room, but they could only do so much, and they found nothing. One doctor said it was all in my mind, one doctor gave me a shot of medicine that made me sleep for two days, because he was mad about being called out that night to the hospital. Then a girl friend of mine took me home on a Saturday morning; I could only lay in the back seat of her car with only my night gown and robe on, I was just that sick. On the following Monday morning, my mother took me to see the most respected, well-known and educated doctor; people from all over the United States traveled to be treated by him. He would examine me and then walk over to the corner of the room and fold his arms; he did this twice, because he was known for being determined to find the problem. Nothing was going to be hid from him or too big for him to solve. Then he ordered the nurses to admit me quickly and without any hesitation. Seeing that they were too slow, he started to scream his orders, which cause everyone involved to scramble to get me into a room. That very night in the wee hours of the morning (around 2:30 a.m.), I died in that hospital. My soul left my body and hovered over it and my life flashed before me in seconds. I remembered the conversations that my sweet Holy Ghost filled Grandmother Annie Craig and I had when I was a young teen about the Lord. It was my favorite place to go after school and on the weekends. However, I could see all the tubes that I was connected to and could see no one else, even though there were two other women in my room. I knew that I had died, so I figured that this was the end for me. But something on the inside, said, "no, I must fight to stay here, for I had not accomplished what I needed to do." So I looked towards Heaven, and said, "Lord, You can't take me now, You just can't; I have something that I have to do." I said this twice. Then the Lord spoke to me in a small still voice and said, "Marva, as you wish!" God, my Jehovah-Jireh, my Lord of Lords, my King of Kings, my Wheel In The Middle of A Wheel, my Jehovah-Nissi, my Jehovah-Shalom, my Jehovah-Shammah, my Jehovah-Tsidkenu returned my soul back to my body with tremendous force. "You can't make me doubt Him, because I know too much about Him." It was God who gave me a second chance in life. It was not always easy, but I had a made up mind to live for Jesus Christ. If God did it for me, God will do it for you. Give your life to Jesus today; you will never be the same. May the Lord bless you today and keep you in perfect peace.
